blog fatigue.

well, I wouldn't exactly call it that ... but I've noticed a lull in my inspiration. Not to mention that whole self-editing thing which means some of what has been happening in Francy-pants is just not publishable.

I had a really strange week. I was sick for 2 days with a bad cold that felled me. I was in bed for 2 days. Then I had a couple of really late nights, and a visitor for 3 days. In the middle of it all, I had several unproductive trips to my prefecture in Perigueux, attempting to wrap up my Carte de Sejour. It seems I had lost an important paper, which I thought was just for instruction but is apparently required. By Friday I was exhausted, frustrated and somewhat emotional.

Saturday, after depositing my visitor at the Gare Perigueux, I returned home. I decided to bring order to my room (my bedroom is my haven, the one finished room in the house). It was in turmoil after 4 plus straight weeks of guests. I folded clothes, organized stuff, etc. I placed a huge pile of papers and folders on my bed, climbed in and began sorting. After several hours, I found the paper I needed stuck in a random folder. Zut.

Following said discovery, I remained in bed. I slept 12 hours plus, and have now awakened.

I wish I felt refreshed but I don't. I have a rendez-vous today for lunch with a woman I met in French class. I think that is a good thing as I'm feeling a bit blue still.

No visitors next week means I hope to revive my more regular posting schedule. my fingers are crossed.

i think you need some rest my friend, too much going on and your body and mind need some down time. We will have our first guests in March for 2 weeks and then 1 week off and another group of guests and then 1 week off and then another group of guests and then summer with more guests. It's exhausting.....take it easy and we'll all be here waiting for you.

Having houseguests is like having a fulltime+ job--logistics, entertainment, and caring--thus, it's more like you have "houseguest fatigue" and l'obstacle de blaug. Just take a doctor and call me an aspirin!!!

It will be rather fun to catch up on your "real life" one day coupled with your house renovation!

Houseguest fatigue is right! Overnight is frightening, but weeks' worth? Yikes.

Now rest up, and bust down the filter so we can hear the dirt because we're terrible like that. Well, maybe not all you good people.

I'm terrible, too, Randal. I selfishly, voyeuristically, vircariously desire dirt but I'm willing to wait--small French towns being what they are.

I am hoping you start a private blog where you can write everything you want with no editing.

And, house guests( no matter how lovely) can be taxing---and then Carte Sejour paperwork is enough to make even the most true blue francophile feeling a little indigo.

Hope you have a lovely lunch and get some rest that is restorative.

la framéricaine, oui, far easier to hide in the big city. Perhaps she should take up LBR's idea!

Sorry, proprietor of this site, some of us - not me, ha - have boring lives and want to read interesting items. ;-)

aww nunhead, likewise! by the way, remember how one of our first encounters was about the 'pic of the day' and what a pain it was because you had to copy/paste code every day? well they fixed it and now it changes on its own everyday. Just in case you are interested!

OJL-gird your loins for guest mode!

LaF-Ta raison!

Monsieur one-ell~ the filter thing is trés difficile! merde!

LBR~ I've thought about that, to be sure! thanks for the encouragement.
