life is like quicksilver ... translucent and momentary ... what if he is the one ... what if I am his one ... what if we miss each other ... if we slip through each other's fingers ... like water cupped for a moment that evaporates before someone thinks to place it in a vessel for safekeeping ... fragile, temporary, uncertain. je vis.

I remember some bit of Shelley, how water stays the same yet always changes. Of course, he said it far more poetically, and I'm not even sure what my point is here beyond I get this sense.

Courragio... as the Italians would say. How courageous for you to type these words, for you to open up your heart , for you to just be who you are in all your love and loveliness...

I was catching up on your blog reading about your visits to JR's family and realizing how incredible it is that you have made such a life there for yourself.

And a quote from Woody Allen:

"To love is to suffer. To avoid suffering one must not love. But then one suffers from not loving. Therefore, to love is to suffer, not to love is to suffer, to suffer is to suffer. To be happy is to love. To be happy then is to suffer, but suffering makes one unhappy. Therefore to be happy one must love or love to suffer. Or suffer from too much happiness."

No wonder the Buddha said, "life is suffering".
