(the misadventures of an expatriate corporate dropout)

whatever.

Yeah, I know my last few posts have ranged from frippery to enervating. I'm tired. I worked my ass off yesterday (would that it were literally so ...) and thusly am in a purely visual mode.

A few pictures and comments is all I can muster up for the moment. I have another day of yard work and outwardly trivial tasks to check off as my big day draws near. she-womanry is no easy task.

There's some stuff percolating in the old writing coffer but it just ain't there at the moment. I think a nice long walk on the beach is going to bring it all together. That's my promised reward this afternoon if I'm a good she-hero and get all my miracles accomplished.

snaps cape. flies away.

Hell, certainly nothing wrong with having nothing. Steal from yourself if necessary, that's what I sometimes do. Funny pictures, work, too.

Foolish to put off well-earned rest, though!

Why do today what you can put off til tomorrow, anyway?

RG-I. I who have nothing. *mind wanders* funny pics?! I was kind of shooting for that with the toilet paper roll...or at least confusion.

DJ-I have 23 days left to get it all done. minus 7 days in california. so .... sigh.

You're too busy to do it all. So, don't do it all. That's my version of procrastination or dealing with stress--it's bad for you. smoke a joint instead. if I knew how I'd do randals trick and strike this out as I'm obviously stoned, and then I write the oposite advise. come back randal.....

enjoy your last 23 days...don't stress yourself out..you'll have plenty of work to do in France.

At the risk of sounding like someone's mother or a woman who's made 10 trips to France in 20 years, you need to rest girl! I genuinely understand your desire to complete tasks and cross them off your list; leave things shipshape
upon departing; and keep busy in order to make time pass more quickly between now and D-Day.

However, you really ought to arrive in France rested, relaxed, and having pampered yourself a bit, gently disengaging, spending time with loved ones, having a good time, prior to hopping the pond and starting the reentry process into a foreign land. It's no news to you that the trans-Atlantic trip itself will be fatiguing.

I admire greatly your Johnette Henry was a steel-driving woman persona but just reading it makes me want to take a hot shower and a long nap. You are a force of nature and that will certainly help you in your French house beautiful project. I can just imagine all the fun you are going to have--hard work in French! That will be a blast!

Congratulations, Kim, on all your accomplishments in the name of moving to France. It's been an experience just reading about it all and I'll be looking forward to hearing more when you complete the transition to la belle France.

U.S.-on that smoking thing. any smuggling advice?

OJL-that's true. I just can't help myself.

LF-this is going to sound insane. But I feel like all I've been doing the last 3 months is shirking. I still haven't shed my 9-5 head. *I think there may be a blog post surfacing here...*

But thanks for your encouragement. So very appreciated.

There's nothing funny about toiletries. Ever.

Okay, that wasn't very funny. How about:

Why did Bush cross the road?

Why did Bush cross the road? To avoid people bandying about the words ‘warmonger,’ ‘religious zealot,’ ‘poodle’ which he thinks are interchangeable.
